Aldershot Lions Club Helps to CHEER Runners On at The Around the Bay Road Race!
The rain and cold couldn’t keep these fans from cheering on the more than 9,400 runners participating in the continent’s oldest road race “Around the Bay Race”. The race began in 1894 and has grown into an annual event attracting thousands of runners from around the world. The Aldershot Lions Club hosts a “25 K Party” where fans can cheer on runners and boast their spirits for the final gruelling 5 kilometres. The party includes a BBQ, lots of noise makers and a large tent to stay dry in. The runners appreciate the fan support and the energy boat of fresh fruit donated by Longos.
