The "CHALLENGE" Day:
Equipment:
Players are required to wear a CSA hockey helmet, skates and stick(s), as a minimum requirement for play. Team members are encouraged to wear similar colour hockey jerseys or sweaters.
Communications:
Before the Challenge: Your Team Captain is the main point of contact – all communications will be sent to your Captain via email. We ask all Captains to forward communications to their team.
During the Challenge: Our on-site “Camp” is the head quarters for the challenge and your information hub. Large display boards will display the days schedule and results. All volunteers and committee members are easily identifiable by the colours they will be wearing.
After the Challenge: Pictures, team results and total funds raised will be posted on our website www.aldershotlions.com. We will email all Team Captains their team results plus information on 2010 Charity Pond Hockey Challenge.
Weather:
IMPORTANT! Alternate Event:
As always the weather is unpredictable. Snow, sleet, rain, and yes even sunshine – we have seen it all in February. Our challenge committee picked this weekend since it has one of the highest probability of having the lowest temperatures – but who knows. If ice conditions are not safe or ideal, a Road Hockey challenge will be held as an alternative. Team Captains will be notified a couple of days prior to the tournament date (February 7, 2009) of ice conditions.
If there is no ice, or conditions are deemed unsafe for Pond hockey, a Road Hockey Challenge will be played in the parking lot.
Note: If teams choose not to participate in the Road Hockey Challenge, 50% of the team’s registration fees will be returned by cheque via mail to the team captain.
